facebook effect 1

Facebook is a social networking site that is rapidly takking over the way we communicate, live, work etc.  It was started about 7 years by a bunch of college kids.  The guy who really took it to the next level was a man named Mark Zuckerberg.  He currently is a very wealthy man living in the United States.  Facebook helps us to be closer to people and to connect with people that otherwise you would never connect with.  Alhtough it is important to ahve friends, you must also be genuine and real when it comes to having your facebook page because if you are not genuine than you will not receive many requests.  Facebook is not all well and good.  For one such example it says that we are increasingly living our lives in public.  Does that mean we are turning itno a world of exhibitionists.  Some people say that it is a celebration of the minutiae of our lives.  Also, how will it lead to change and development if our actions are constantly being scrutinized by our friends.  This is helping people become more interactive and exchange ideas, but is it the kind of ideas that we want to hear or are they original.  Will Facebook impede or help people when we are discussing emotions, and emotional maturity?  Who is facebook good for? Do we really need it or do we think we need it? These are questions that must be answered and will be answered within the next couple of decades.  I think that it may impede our ability to learn and to change because everything will be scrutinized and judged.
